Rare leather

So I recently picked up a can of Lynx that claimed to smell of “Rare Leathers”. What the hell is rare leather can anyone tell me? Leather that’s hard to find? I can tell you, it smells absolutely nothing like leather but rather generic Lynx smell (except of course for Africa, which smells great). It boggles the mind

I’m just back from the Strictly Come Dancing competition we did in the SU for charity. I had an absolutely fantastic night! Well done to everyone who took part, it was a great show. And many, many thanks to my dance partner Grainne who did a fantastic job – she was amazing!

Quote of the Week

Let’s try a quote of the week segment. A lot of funny/unusual things get said in my life. Especially when taken out of context.

“The Koreans had them exactly where they wanted them” – said by my brother while watching the men’s 1500m short track speed skating in the Winter Olympics

I totally forgot all about this gem of a song/video that Alan Nev introduced to me in the Summer of ’08. Not only a great song but magnificent choreography too

The next advancement in toilet reading material

I was extremely disappointed and let down when Apple unveiled the new iPad. It has no USB. It cannot multitask. Two monumental failures. It really is just a giant iPad Touch. Not even an iPhone, for one cannot make calls on it. If they were to correct these issues, I would consider getting one. Because it does look kind of cool and futuristic (what with it being the year 2010 and all). And 10 hours battery life is impressive. Hopefully they’ll iron these issues out for the next version.

I’m also curious to see how Chrome OS performs and works. Seven second boot time is pretty fast…

A session with the recession

February 16, 2010 Leave a comment

This recession is odd business. You can clearly see the effects of it everywhere. Especially in my line of work. The biggest issue I’m always dealing with is finance and students that are struggling to get by.

And yet, every time I’ve gone out for a night on the town, the venue has always been PACKED. Hardly room to breathe let alone move. And this does be at the weekends when places are more expensive what with entry and drinks prices. Spy nightclub especially is just jammers. Why do people have no money and yet they go out and get lashed?! To drown their sorrows perhaps?
